IUMA: Surface Noise
Dutch Lo-Fi Project of Singer/Songwriter Yop. Just finished my sophmore release ''Senseless Emotions''. An acoustic record, full of weird harmonies, some weird instruments, but with a very stripped down formula. Lo-Fi pop, I guess. No drums on this one, maybe on my next record. Bye, Yop

file under toner1812@33hazard records hr078, 2014-------------------------------------------------------All the sounds in the "The End" series come from supposedly silent final grooves of vinyl records. In this case they come from 12 different albums, all of which feature Pietr Ilitx Tchaikovsky's 1812 Ouverture, and all of which spin at 33 rpm. As in all other works of this series, you cannot be sure if what you are hearing really comes from the alleged records...

Tantalum Addition to Zirconium Diboride for Improved Oxidation Resistance - Levine, Stanley R.
Ultrahigh temperature ceramics have performed unreliably due to material flaws and attachment design. These deficiencies are brought to the fore by the low fracture toughness and thermal shock resistance of UHTCs. If these deficiencies are overcome, we are still faced with poor oxidation resistance as a limitation on UHTC applicability to reusable launch vehicles. We have been addressing the deficiencies of UHTCs with our focus on composite constructions and functional grading to address the mec...

Geometric Scaling of Applied-Field Magnetoplasmadynamic Thrusters - Myers, Roger M
Eight magnetoplasmadynamic thruster configurations were tested with argon propellant at power levels between 20-130 kW to study the effects of geometry and applied magnetic field strength on thruster performance. The discharge voltage, thrust efficiency, and specific impulse increased monotonically with increasing applied-Field strength for all geometries. The highest measured performance was 23 thrust efficiency at 2300-s specific impulse at a power of 113 kW...

Progress and challenges in modeling turbulent aerodynamic flows - Marvin, Joseph G
Progress in modeling external aerodynamic flows achieved by using computations and experiments designed to guide turbulence modeling is presented. The computational procedures emphasize utilization of the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and various statistical modeling approaches. Developments for including the influence of compressibility are provided; they point up some of the complexities involved in modeling high-speed flows...

A Photographic Study of Liquid Hydrogen Under Simulated Zero Gravity Conditions - Brazinsky, Irving
The transient behavior of liquid hydrogen, under conditions of zero gravity, was studied photographically. The hydrogen was subjected to weightlessness by dropping a Dewar containing this liquid from a height of 9 feet. During the weightless period of approximately 3/4 second, the liquid rose along the walls of the Dewar into the original vapor space. The rise occurred at constant velocity for practically the entire duration of this period...
